Colin grew up in Saskatchewan. He is a die-hard Roughrider fan. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in History before completing a Bachelor of Law Degree at the University of Saskatchewan.
Colin practiced for 13 years before the Unified Family Court in Saskatoon before joining Tees Kiddle Spencer in 1993.
Colin qualified as a Family Mediator in 1994 and has continuously upgraded his credentials since then.
Colin has successfully mediated hundreds of disputes. The majority of these involved family issues such as division of property, spousal and child support, and child custody and access.
Colin regularly mediates in other areas including, but not limited to, Estate issues, and Commercial and Partnership Disputes.
Colin's approach to litigation is to proceed to trial only if all attempts to resolve the issues quickly and efficiently by use of appropriate alternative dispute resolution options such as negotiation, conciliation, mediation and Judicial Settlement Conference are unsuccessful.
Colin believes his role, as lawyer or mediator, is to try to get your matters resolved quickly, cost effectively and with the least stress possible, provided the result is a fair and equitable one.
